What's that movie, not a "gay movie", that Dennis Leary plays a gay police investigaytwhore, uh, investigator that makes anti-gay remarks? Something Knights? Knights something? Kings of something? Geez. I can't remember. With the two guys that were killing all these bad guys? That was a cool gay character. I like when he was sitting at the gay bar and told the bartender something to the effect of "Just pour me another you fuckin' faggot." lol And when he was in bed with some guy and got a phone call and the guy was trying to be passionate and he swatted him off and insulted him. For some reason that just cracked me up. -

can't remember the title of the movie. . . a chinese guy and an anglo guy are living the perfect life in san francisco. the chinese guy hasn't come out to his family yet and has to hurry up and have a wedding to a lady so he can attempt to deceive his parents who are comming from china for a visit. . . . .i do remember the film was a very sweet comedy

Were all great movies but I did not l did not like "My Own Private Idaho " - I saw it years ago - but I think the script was weak and that was my objection..
"The Sum of Us" is a movie I have mentioned a few times and I think it is wonderful
I think I don't really see these as "gay and lesbian and transgendered" films.. sure they have that content - but they I watch them as exploring issues.. and even the ones with coming out conflicts - it is always about finding self.. and for me, the sexual paradigm used to explore it is secondary..
Gay sex scenes are not something I have a problem with.. but bloke on bloke kissing within them is something that makes me uncomfortable.. don't really know why that is the case.. .. probably because the idea of tongue kissing another bloke is a huge turn off.. . -

What a really delightful array of film lists. I mean... I was expecting repeated listings of Philedelphia,Brokeback Mountain, Pricilla,To Wong Foo, BUT I saw a lot of smaller scale films that make their rounds in yearly gay film festivals, and MOST important were comments from people who could unify a film with gay and lesbian characters to a universal theme... whatever film that was. Meaning, a film can be a film, speak to us, take us on a joy ride and one doesn't necessarily have to have straight characters to reach straight people. The content is what it is.. it's a film... with astory and theres always something to grasp.
Shortbus even made me hide against the popcorn bucket and blush. HA! I can't imagine a straight male getting through the first 10 minutes haha!
That film is most interesting because at the end of the day it was a film about sexualfrustration and the conversations it has with relationships in various stages of life. -

Does anyone remember this film called "Total Eclipse" with daniel Thewlis and Leonardo DiCaprio... where they were lovers...and there were plenty of crotch shots?

Shortbus was good too, though I would have preferred the scrutiny of sexual dysfunction to be counter-balanced by some healthy, joyful expressions of sexuality. -

When my friend went ot see it in the theatre when it first came out he said he thought it was interesting that the majority of the audience seemed to be heterosexual and that alot of them were older women. I told him I wonder if they have gay kids or maybe they are wondering if their husbands are gay. -
