This looks like a great role for Cameron Diaz. This looks like it's going to be a great movie.

Mon, October 19, 2009 - 9:08 AMDirector Richard Kelly's third outing after Donnie Darko and Southland Tales. Now, call me crazy, but I love Southland Tales -- that movie was way underrated. Here's a review of that film that got it:

Mon, October 19, 2009 - 10:37 AMIf you liked Donnie Darko, give it a shot. You'll know in the first 20 minutes if it's worth finishing.
And I gotta say, I love Dwayne Johnson's performance in this. -

Re: The Box
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 11:10 PMI just recently read the short story by Richard matheson called, "Button, Button" in a great collection of stories called, "Stranger"It has a great twist ending and I immeadiately thought what a great Twilight Zone episode it would make. I have a feeling they're going to go over the top with the film to flesh it out. The story was just perfect! -

Re: The Box
Thu, November 12, 2009 - 12:47 PMI saw this movie last night -- it was the worst movie I've seen in a long, long time. I would have walked out of the theater halfway through for the first time ever, had I not been there with friends. And having seen the second half, I can say from experience that I would not have been worse off for it.
This is a dreadful movie. The script is bewildering, manipulative, arbitrary, and lame-brained. The characters are thinly sketched and poorly acted across the board. Two key performances, played by the ever-wooden James Marsden (Cyclops from the X-Men films) and child actor Sam Oz Stone deserve special mention. They could be out-acted by a creamsicle.
I took it for granted that at least the film would feature superb atmosphere -- not so, movie whores! The cinematography was dull and the score was third-rate horror movie stuff with dissonant strings stolen directly from Iannis Xenakis.
Everything about this film sucked, but most of all the script is a nightmarish piece of incoherent and self-indulgent solipsistic twaddle loaded with amateurish pseudo-profound references to Sartre. Please. It had the structure of the mystery, but as the films secrets were revealed it was just a bunch of arbitrary bullshit he made up.
"Donne Darko" is on my short list of all-time favorites, but this movie is an abomination that should be cast into the sea.
The only thing I can say in its defense is that at least it wasn't morally reprehensible. -
