Of course I loved it, what Depp fan wouldn't?

It wasn't totally what I'd like it to have been.

Have you seen it? Any thoughts?

I loved the fact that it wasn't your typical "they lived happily ever after" ending.

i loved capn jack's encounters with himself! that took it into surreality in a fun and unexpected way.....

(altho, gotta say, nothing will beat that first glimpse of jack sailing into port in the first movie.)

keith, of course, was another nice touch. over-hyped, but necessary.

Enjoyed it as good popcorn fare... not "great" cinema and had some gaping plot holes ...and there definately was some lame moments which made no sense whatsoever.

Most glaringly ... okay - two fleets of ships standing off and they only send forth one at a time to do battle?? What kinda stupid ship-warfare tactic is THAT?? -- okay, I'll give that it would've probably cost a LOT more in terms of effects-budget to actually have a fleet to fleet battle -- but c'mon, that was LAME to have all those ships sitting around doing nothing!

Calypso... a total wasted plot point. We release a goddess of the sea and she just grows big enough to crack a ship's deck ... but all she does is say some unintelligible and then turn into crabs. (*yawn*) ...what a waste!

...(shrug)... had some fun moments & I liked the film, overall.

Seen it last night, Definately enjoyable. Love Captain Jack Sparrow! I wish they could clone him! But I also got the feeling that they set up the ending for another sequel. Anyone think they would be pushing it making one more?

I thought it was weird. And I normally like weird movies, but I just got the feeling that they were trying really hard to make it into a "Charlie Kauffman" flick. Thought about leaving about halfway through, but didn't. Got really tired of it near the end. But the ending was terrific. . .parts of the film were really brilliant. . .but much of the film was simply artfully incoherent.

Excellent production values, special effects and a great score carried the film when the screenplay was just week.

Johnny Depp likes those artsy films, but I don't think this one pulled it off. However, with his exceptional talents. . .I hope some day he is in a Charlie Kauffman film.
