I walked into this with high-ish hopes. I love disturbed black comedies and the buzz i was catching about this flick had me hoping for something as dark and tasteless as Very Bad Things. Much to my chagrin it wasnt dark, only dim. It wasnt disturbed, it was only juvenile. It wasnt horrible, it was worse - it was stale - and poorly shot. I'm sorta scratching my head. It reviewed in at an average of 4/5 stars by multiple reviews. I'd have given it 2.
And why was the audience mostly underwhelmed middle aged women??? Before the previews i was wondering what all the chattering was and realized the audience head backs were all starched, frosted or wearing earrings. After doubletaking my ticket stub I made my girlfriend go out and check the theater marque because i was sure we'd wandered into a chick flick. I'm still baffled at that demographic!
