Great info here! Thank you Just looking at this list gives me a sinking feeling. We have some really good shows on TV already that are on the bubble, and some that I'm waiting to get the official word on for a new season (like The 4400).

Maybe we really should start taking the time to let these networks know how good (or how crappy) their programming can be. As for films, same thing. We can let these production companies know how we feel about this stuff. That's my .02 cents!

it is kind of fun to look at the patterns of 'pathetic -icism" that run throught the industry...

any one else notice the outcry :"fuck.. those kids loved their cartoons, transformers worked... what else can we do?

Its fun to see the spectrum of where they're all going and the kinds of projects .. thanks for posting this..

and yeah .. I agree with everyone else.. nothing that inspiring or exciting..

yet, I disagree with Pink on Atlas.. I've always been curious to see who the hell someone would put that together. And can the writers adapt it forward so that its relevant to the contemporary psyche? I would like to see it attempting visually the sci-fi peroidness that they were attempting in SkyCaptain.. the cartoon/deco/fantasicism..

I also dont throw Rand out the way you do.. I do find it frustrating.. that most people and organizations claiming to be of a Randian pursuit end up being mindless mouth pieces for the illogical Rightest policy and thought.

Actual Randian ethic applied to ecological theory, globalism, and education collapse does provide some damn interesting turns in perspective. blah blah blah .. I know.

Yuck this is absolutely ridiculous, there are maybe 10 to 20 movies tops that even sound worth seeing. I agree here if they go on strike it won't be a great lose. All's Hollywood has been pumping out lately is total crap. I haven't been to the theater since the new harry potter came out. They really need to think of something with a story line worth watching that hasn't been already beat to death with a stick. half the crap has already been made or been a tv show. Come on can't we be a bit imaginative. They need to pull there heads out of there asses for a minute and look at the big picture, that THESE MOVIES ARE GOING TO SUCK!

Hollywood might be shut down? It wont be any great loss to Art. I go see Indy films anyway, mostly foreign. Amerika moves with the market and doesn't care much about quality, just what sells and if the public wats violence and special effects and a twelve year old story line and character development, thats what Amerika gets.

Studios and Production Companies set their pre-strike priorities
By Edward Havens
September 13th, 2007

You may or may not have heard that there is a distinct possibility that the Writers Guild, the Directors Guild AND the Screen Actors Guild will all be striking next spring, if negotiations with the Producers Guild do not get settled between now and then. With the chance that they might go months without any new productions, everyone in Hollywood is making sure their pet projects are getting set up before the hurricane hits.

A list starting circulating around the talent agencies two weeks ago, listing the 300 projects in active development which have become pre-strike priorities for the major studios and a number of top production companies. This list does not mean all of these projects will be completed before the strike date or that they will come together in time. A few titles have already started shooting, some others have set production start dates, and a couple will likely end up on somebody's Best Films Never Made list a few years down the road.

You'll also notice certain directors have their names attached to two or more projects, while a number of them have no director attached. Hell, even Hollywood pariah David O. Russell is getting a bump thanks to the strike threat. Just that these are the films these companies are putting their muscle behind, hoping to keep their distribution pipeline open and flowing in case of a work stoppage.

As of August 29, 2007, there are the main priorities for Hollywood, in case of emergency:
